Chris loved Nature, the Rocky Mountains, traveling, walking his dogs, gardening, Colorado, Pink Floyd, fly fishing, Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney, the Moody Blues, Janis Joplin, the Beatles, duct tape and everything associated with growing up in the Fifties and Sixties. He was truly grateful to have lived through the era of Sex, Drugs and Rock’n’ Roll.
He was born in Kansas City, MO to Marion and Teresa (née Leuck) Buckley. He grew up in Kansas City, Grand Forks, ND, San Antonio, TX and St. Louis.
After serving in the Marine Corps, Chris started college in Springfield, MO, but a fateful spring break led him to move to Colorado. He lived in Boulder while attending CU, where he finished his degree. Eventually, he moved back to St. Louis, where he met Christine at a Cardinals Baseball game. They travelled the world together before moving, in 2019, to his beloved Colorado, where Erik and Tara were living. He was known for his quick sense of humor, his caring attitude and his gentleness.
He is also survived by his siblings: Dr. Patrick (Judith) Buckley, Mary Michael (James) Morrow, Carolyn Ann (the late Lou) Culpepper, Sheila Marie (Robert) Bos, Sharon Rose (Gregory) Pfitzinger, Suzanne (Daniel) Struemph, and Michael Sean (Christine) Buckley. Dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and dear friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made to the Missouri Botanical Garden. Memorial Service to be held in St. Louis at a later date.
