Born in 1957 to parents Anabel and Wayne Hudgins, Jean grew up in both St. Louis and Princeton, New Jersey. She attended The Johns Hopkins University, where she met her future husband, Fallon. She returned to St. Louis for her J.D. from Washington University School of Law, then completed a master's degree in tax law at George Washington University Law School. She and Fallon settled in Clayton, where Jean built her law career and family.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Fallon Maylack; their three children, Elizabeth, Robert, and Jennifer Maylack; and their granddaughter, Annabelle.
A private memorial service will be held by the family this summer.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the St. Louis County Library, an institution that reflects Jean's lifelong love of learning.
Jean will be remembered for her brilliant mind, wry sense of humor, and deep devotion to her friends and family.
