It is with great sadness and deep gratitude that we announce the passing of our father, John Wayne Shomaker, on March 18, 2025.
John is now at peace and reunited with the love of his life, Judy Ann Shomaker, who passed in 2021. Married for 47 years, they shared a life built on commitment, resilience, and family above all else. They will be laid to rest together, honoring our mother’s final wish—to be held in her husband’s arms for eternity.
John was a proud Army veteran, a skilled machinist, and a dedicated union man. His true calling was helping others find sobriety, hope, and purpose—especially through his outreach work in meetings, conferences, prisons and his leadership in the recovery community.
Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her life as a homemaker and retired from Chrysler Local 136 in St. Louis. She poured her energy into her home and family, and her steady presence left a lasting impact on everyone she loved.
They enjoyed life’s simple pleasures together —gardening, camping, fishing, boating, and a little fun at the casino now and then. But most of all, they loved being surrounded by their family.
They are survived by their children Ryan, Eric, and Theresa; their grandchildren Madison, McKenzie, Tristan, and Lucas; and nieces Frankie and Joy. Judy Shomaker left behind her sisters Norma, Helen, Christine and two brothers Ronnie and John.
Their story is one of commitment, endurance, loyalty, and most importantly a deep love that never let go.
We welcome you to join us in honoring two lives that touched many, and a bond that will never be broken.
