09/13/21  I worked with Joshana when she interned with us in the VA Office of Regional Counsel.  I was impressed with Joshana's easy going manner, intelligence, and work ethic. I met Joshana  through our work together at the Kansas Board of Healing Arts and was fortunate to spend many years enjoying her smile and her passionate  intensity for everything she did. She had a voracious curiosity to learn new things and was fearless when trying something new, whether it was swinging a softball bat or taking on a challenging case at the board. She will be remembered and missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

     I don't have extensive memories like friends and family have of Joshana. That makes me sad to find out what an outstanding person I've missed out on. I only knew her as an adorable little girl with dark curly hair and a beautiful smile with whom I shared my love of horses.
     I love that she had a wonderful sense of humor (from her father I suspect) and was thoughtful and kind (from her parents). I was delighted to learn that we share no sense of direction or navigation skills. I bet she was going the wrong direction in Kansas at the same time I was going the wrong direction in North Carolina. 
    What steady souls Stefan and Carol have to endure the loss of Shalon and now Joshana. Distance and time are barriers but the warmth I feel for your family isn't limited.

A stand out characteristic of Joshana was her ability to mesh well with anybody in any age group.
Long time friends of her parents, we had the good fortune of considering ourselves Joshana's friends as well.  Her humor was timeless and her wit outstanding.  She made one always feel welcome in her world.
As a loving daughter, she stood tall.  So very considerate and kind.  
She will be so deeply missed.

I had the pleasure of knowing Joshana during my tenure on the BOHA.  She was one of the warmest people I’ve ever known. Bright, intuitive, and always caring about others and looking for ways to help them or at least show her concern. I don’t trust easily, but I trusted Joshana implicitly, and I’ve been heartbroken since hearing of her passing.  Rest In Peace, beautiful Joshana. It was a gift for having known you. 

I worked with Joshana at Scharnhorst. I loved her sense of humor. She was very patient and understanding. She will be greatly missed.

I first met Joshana when she began her employment at the Kansas Board of Healing Arts. She was one of those rare people who endeared not only me, but all of her fellow employees. Always having a smile and always willing to help others.

Joshana also had a great sense of humor and spoke her mind  with great levity. All the times she would give me advise on mismatched colors in my shirt and pants - and to never let it happen again. Or when my wife would tell me to do something and Joshana telling me I’d better do what my wife said because she had my wife’s phone number and she’d use it. She could also take as much ribbing as she gave - one of the most relentless ribbings  she got was her admitted lack of not getting lost and lack of direction. On one occasion, after volunteering to take me home because I wasn’t feeling well, our boss determined he should follow along in his own car to ensure she found her way back. 

There are not enough positive words in describing what a beautiful, caring and professional woman she was. I will never forget her. The positive impact she made on me and others in this world, most certainly gave her a special place in Heaven above.

I worked with Joshana for many years at Olathe Medical Center. She was a friend to me— she came to the hospital when my children were born, she came to my house and ate homemade Greek food, she took my older boys to museums. She was so kind and caring. I hadn’t spoken with her in a couple years. I will miss her. I am praying for her peace as well as her mother and father. 

I worked with Joshana at the Kansas Board of Healing Arts. She always had a smile on her face! Even if she was having a bad day you would NEVER know because she would always stay so positive! 
I will always remember one special thing about Joshana- she would always sincerely thank me when I ordered materials that she needed in the office. She even went above and beyond and wrote me a thank you note thanking me for always being on top of ordering her supplies.
You could just tell she had the most genuine heart and would help anybody she met without question.
I'm so very thankful I got the chance to work with Joshana and will miss her dearly. 
To her family- I am so very sorry for your loss. Just know she made a difference in my life and so many others and we are all thinking of you! Sending my deepest condolences to you all❤


Joshana and I became "cancer companions" after her diagnosis. We would text and talk about how treatment was going as she traveled to and from Denver (where I live). She had a heart for others and had a great sense of humor as well. I so wish things had worked out differently for her!  She fought the brave fight and is now with her Lord. Rest in peace!

I had the pleasure of working with Joshana at KS BOHA.  She always had a smile on her face and was such an amazing person.  She had an ability to bring people together and was always the smiling face that brightened the room.  She was an amazing person and friend.  I was extremely sad to hear of her passing.  She will be greatly missed by so many people.  

Years ago,  I had a seizure that led to discovering a tumor on my brain.  Because of the seizure,  I couldn't drive for 6 months. Obviously, I had many Dr appts. Joshana, being the amazing caring person she is went out of her way and took me to most of the appts. I spent a lot of time with her and I can't express enough what an absolutely, phenomenal person she is. Even after I could drive again,  she kept tabs on me to make sure I was ok. I can't say thank you enough,  Joshana!! You're my Angel!!

I’ve been privileged to call Joshana a friend since law school.  As I’m sure most will attest, you couldn’t ask for a better friend.  Whenever you needed anything she was there.  She was probably the most selfless person I’ve ever met, consistently putting others first.  If you needed help she was there at the drop of a hat. 

Even these last few months she continued to offer support to everyone around her.  

My deepest condolences to her family.  I cannot imagine how difficult this must be. I will simply say that Joshana had a profound impact upon  those around her. Our lives were better because of her.  

I will miss you my dear friend. 

I had the pleasure to work with Joshana over the past couple of years and always appreciated her thoughtfulness of others and incredible smile. Recently she had text to find out how my new job was going.... even with all she was going through she still was putting others first. My heart breaks that our June lunch date will not come. Keeping her family and friends in my thoughts and prayers. She was one of a kind and she will be incredibly missed. The world lost a beautiful person with an amazing heart.
