Joyce E. Mihelich

Joyce was born on July 18,1941 in St. Louis, Missouri and was the youngest of 2 siblings. She married Peter J. Mihelich on April 20, 1963, and had a Nuptial High Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, followed by a beautiful celebration at Three Flags in St. Charles, Missouri. Their honeymoon was in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they settled briefly in Hazelwood.

Shortly after their marriage, Pete landed a job at General Dynamics and the couple moved to San Diego, California where they started their family. After 11 years they relocated back to St. Charles to be near family and friends and take over Joyce’s father’s share of the business, Goellner Printing.

Joyce is predeceased by her parents, Glen and Erlene Goellner and her sister, Judy Schlaker.

She is survived by her husband Pete Mihelich and her children, Julie and her husband Curt Lange, Diane and her husband Chris Whatton, Glenn and his wife Melissa Mihelich and her 4 grandchildren, Shannon Giliberto, Matthew Savino, Jacob and London Mihelich. Joyce treasured each and every moment with her grandchildren and traveled frequently to visit them in California.

Joyce lived a full life and had many loves including travels in the U.S. (she traveled to all 50 states except North Dakota) and abroad. Some of her favorite places included the Amalfi Coast, Ireland, Rome, Florence, Alaska, Croatia and Germany to visit family, the Cayman Islands and Hawaii - the list is endless. Every summer included trips to the family lake house in Wisconsin to cool off.

Her other loves included sports, golf, cooking, gardening, music, theater, and countless charitable endeavors, with St. Jude Children’s Research being her highest crusade. She was a member of the local ESA sorority sisters, and a loving homemaker. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and collecting Santas.

Joyce was a dedicated supportive grandparent, loving mom and spouse.

She will be missed dearly.

A Visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kriegshauser Mortuary-West Chapel, 9450 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63132. The Funeral Mass will occur Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, 601 N 4th St, Saint Charles, MO 63301.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
