Matilda Zeffren

Beloved wife of Joel Lester Zeffren, MD. Dear mother and mother-in-law of Jacob Yak (Corrine) Zeffren, MD of Teaneck, NJ, Barry Dov (Tziona) Zeffren, MD, David (Mira) Zeffren of Los Angeles, CA and Rabbi Gershon Jonathan (Donna) Zeffren. Dear grandmother of 19, dear greatgrandmother of 11. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Pauline (the late Harry) Schneider. Dear sisterin-law of Rabbi Burton Zeffren. Our dear aunt, cousin and friend. Mrs. Zeffren was a lifelong community volunteer. She was a former board member of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis and a former president of the ParentTeacher Association of the H.F. Epstein Hebrew Academy where she continued to volunteer until her death. Mrs. Zeffren was a founder and lifelong member of Young Israel of St. Louis where she served as president of the Women's Division on many occasions. But her greatest role was as a wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 12th. Memorial contributions preferred to Young Israel of St. Louis or the H.F. Epstein Hebrew Academy.
