

He was born October 30th 1943 in Fairfield, IL - the son of Max K. and Dortha Harris (Caldwell).
Max graduated from Fairfield Community High School in 1961, and went on to receive a degree in Electronics from United Electronics Institute in Kentucky.
He joined the Army in 1965 where he served as a sergeant (stationed in Korea) until honorably discharged in 1967.
On October 18th 1971, Max married Nancy (Schmid) in St. Louis, MO. They were together for 53 beautiful years.
For 34 years, Max worked in construction as a sheet metal worker with Local 36 in St. Louis. He retired in 2003.
Max especially loved to garden in the Summertime and was always very proud of his "crop" of veggies. He enjoyed reading history books and watching documentaries - particularly those about the Civil War. He loved cats and was especially close to his little buddy, Torti... he rarely missed an episode of 60 Minutes.
Remaining to cherish Max’s memory are his wife, Nancy; daughter, NataLee Keune & her husband Vernon; granddaughter, Magika Lee; brother, Harold Dale Harris & family; many friends & relatives and his kitty Torti.
Preceding Max in death are his parents, Max K. and Dortha Harris; sister, Marilyn Hunt (Harris) and many beloved feline friends & companions.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, January 2nd, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125.
