Born in St. Louis to Ruthie and Hyman Bernstein. Beloved husband of Melanie Bernstein (Cibull) and proud father of Tracy Feldman (Robert) and Scott Bernstein (Jen). Proud grandfather of Jacob Feldman, Maya Feldman and Ari Bernstein. He is predeceased by his parents Ruthie and Hyman Bernstein and brother Alan Bernstein (Nancy).
Mitch grew up in the Delmar Loop amidst his extremely close family with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He attended Epstein Hebrew Academy and graduated from University City High School in 1959. He loved singing in the choirs in both high school and at Washington University during his undergrad years. After a stint in the U.S. Army, he again attended Washington University, earning his MBA. In retirement, he took art classes and painted many wonderful pictures. He also re-ignited his love for singing with the Show Stoppers. Music remained a large part of his life.
Mitch loved people and never met a stranger – he carried on a conversation with everyone. He always had a smile on his face and cared deeply for his family and friends.

Funeral Service Wednesday, September 17 at 10:30 AM at Congregation Shaare Emeth. No visitation prior to the funeral service. Interment follows at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Road. Contribution in Mitch’s memory are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association or Pathways Hospice Foundation.
