Mitch,

I remember you in junior high and high school and you were always a funny and wonderful heart of a person. Wherever you are, I hope you are in a better place knowing that you made a difference. Rest in peace.

I met Mitch about 25 years ago in a Barnes & Noble, both of us browsing books about the Grateful Dead. We struck up a conversation and became instant friends. At that time, I was going through a difficult divorce, and Mitch’s kindness and friendship helped me through one of the toughest periods of my life.

Over the years, we shared countless nights together—playing X-Box, visiting local bars, or just hanging out at his place. We also went to dozens of concerts, from the Beacon Theater to the Shoreline Amphitheatre, always chasing good music and good times.

What I’ll carry with me most is the lesson Mitch embodied: to live life to the fullest and to remind the people around you how much you love them, every single day. I will miss him deeply, but I am forever grateful for the friendship we shared.  Rest in peace my friend.

Sending my deepest condolences to Mitch's family and loved ones. There would be many he loved, a kind, funny, sincere, very sweet soul. I met Mitch in junior high school and though we weren't a constant in each others lives, we connected a few times over the years and he would check in every now and then because he was just a good person, he cared.  He will be truly an empty seat at the table for so many. May he rest easy now ~

I’ve known Mitch since I was 12 years old and he was 13 or 14.  Some of us use to hang out at the mall in East Brunswick as young kids & my girlfriend and I would sometimes call the mall pay phones to see who would pick up. Well Mitch picked up the phone one day & we became friends immediately. We used to hang out and eat ramen and drink slurpees. He helped turn me on to the Grateful Dead.  He knew my secrets , made me laugh , made me angry , made me cry , and everything in between. He was my best friend and he knew how to piss me off & push buttons. He knew how to push lots of people’s buttons .
We went years without talking multiple times but we’d always reconnect because we were meant to be friends.  And then we got to hang last summer and that was really special . It all came full circle .
 I will always love him like a brother even when he was a pain in my ass. I will never ever forget him . My friend , my brother Mitch . May you rest in peace. Your memories will always be a blessing ✡️

Rest in heaven my friend.  You were a one of a kind person.  We had some great times and those memories will last until we meet again.  Save a spot on shakedown in the sky for me.
