Dear Dr.Roodman and Mrs.Roodman,
Please forgive me, I hope this is not inappropriate but since we moved from Columbia we have had to get new cell phones and computer so I have lost all of my pictures of Nick and it would mean the world to me if you have time and it is not to much trouble if you could email me a picture of him It would mean so much to me. I meant to ask in my first letter but I completely forgot as I have just now learned of this tragedy and cannot think straight yet so please forgive my forgetfulness.

My name is Ryan Chapman I'm the son of Dr. David Chapman I'm not sure if Robin or Dr.Roodman remembers Dave and I or not but any way I just heard about Nick and my heart just skipped a beat. I could never put in to words how upset I am and I can not even imagine what you are going through. I hope you can accept my most sincere condolences Nick was like a brother to me I will miss him more than words can convey.  Again my family and I extend our most heart felt condolences.

Steve and Robin,
I am so sad for you regarding Nick's death.  I want to let you know that I am thinking about you daily. I can't even imagine how pained you must me.  I don't know what to say but cherish the memories.

So saddened by this news. I loved nick like a brother.

Dear Dr. Roodman and Robin,
I am so very sorry to hear of your loss; there are no words at a time like this that will offer comfort.  Just know that my thoughts are with both of you.

Nick was a good friend. He loved the people around him and loved life. This is truly sad news. My thoughts go out to the entire Roodman family, Nick will be missed.

He was my best friend all through high school and beyond.  We didn't get to see each other as much the last few years, but we were always close and he was always in my heart.  I will miss Nick and the memories we shared (prom, graduation, etc...).  He loved his "people" in his life, and thought about them all the time.  I am devastated and crushed that I will never see his face again : (.  He is in my heart forever!!

Dr. Roodman & Family-I offer you my most deepest sympathy today & pray that God will surround you & your family with His love & protection. I lit 2 candles at my church today, 1 for Nick & 1 for your family. I think of you often & remember how thoughtful, patient & kind you have always been to me. I know that Nick was much loved & very lucky to have such a wonderful father. Please know that my family & I are thinking of you & wish you peace.

I only knew Nick for a few months, he was always ready to laugh and was not afraid to work hard. Two qualities I find in short supply.

 There are no words that can ease the pain in losing such a wonderful son such as Nick. Just know that he is in a better place and feeling the love of God all around him.Holding onto the wonderful memories of Nick that you and your family have, will help carry you through these rough times ahead. You have been loving wonderful parents and Nick felt your love everyday. Nick had a soft and gentle way to him along with a capitavating smile that I will always remember. Only the love of family and friends will carry you through these rough times. Celebrate Nick's life by remembering this wonderful son and all the love and joy he brought into your life and the lives of others around him.I'll miss him dearly.
