Born October 16, 1929 to the late David L. and Clemence Jeanne (Reynaud) Chauvin in El Paso, Texas, Pauline grew up in El Paso, Pasadena, California and Seattle, Washington. She was the seventh of nine children – Joseph (LaBorde), Margaret (Clarke), David, Pete, Theresa (Harmon), Mary Jane (Torgerson), Pauline (Rice), John, and C. Jeanne (Hogan). While on vacation to St. Louis, Missouri in the summer of 1949, she met her Jim darlin’ on a blind date. They married on September 23, 1950, and raised their four children in South County, St. Louis, Missouri. Pauline had an incredible memory for names, birthdays, and anniversaries - yes, yours! Despite many adversities in her life, she always counted her blessings and tried to keep a positive attitude. She made a concerted effort to stay in touch with extended family and dear friends. She cared deeply about everyone she knew, and prayed for their needs and concerns. Her greatest desire was that all of her family, all those she cared about, and, actually, each person she met, would know and have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ whom she now sees face to face.
