Roland L. Austin, age 85, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Roland was born June 9, 1936 in St. Louis, MO to the late Archie and Geneva (nee Hammers) Austin; beloved husband of Norma Austin (nee Lewis); loving father of Chris (Sue) Austin and Scott (Laurie) Austin; loving grandfather of Sandra, Tom and Samantha; dear brother of the late Zelmer, Archie Wayne, Janet Sue and Luedora. dear uncle and friend to many.
Roland served in the US Navy where he crewed Lighter than Air Ships and worked on the S.A.C. Radar lines during the cold war in Argentina and Newfoundland. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was always friendly and out going and never met a stranger. Roland loved traveling with his wife Norma, He loved laughing, good food and Six Flags and Roller Coasters.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 12, 2022 from 4-8 pm at the Hoffmeister South County Chapel 1515 Lemay Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO. Funeral service Thursday January 13, 2022, 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
