
Sharon Gale (Birnbaum) Levin, 70, died on Monday, August 21,2017. She was born June 10, 1947, in New York City. She is survived by her husband Stanford, children Allison and Elliot, her brother Fred, and cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She received a B. S. in Economics from the City College of the City University of New York and a Ph. D. in Economics from the University of Michigan. Sharon taught economics for almost 30 years the University of Missouri – Saint Louis and was the recipient of numerous grants, teaching and research awards. She was a big baseball fan, growing up watching Mickey Mantle and the Yankees. After a few years as a free agent, Sharon eventually switched her allegiance to the Cardinals after moving to St. Louis in 1972.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 AM Thursday, August 24, at BERGER MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 9430 Olive Boulevard in Olivette, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at the United Hebrew Cemetery in University City. Donations can be made in her memory to the charity of choice or to the Sharon G.
