Perez, Virginia L. “Virgie” - Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church on December 24, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Manuel “Bede” Perez. Cherished daughter of the late Henry “Red” & Regina Diaz. Beloved cousin of Mary Ann Rodriguez, Esther (the late Morris) Nassif, Mary (the late Oscar) &Tommy Garcia, the late Andy & Joan Gonzalez, Linda (Frank) Monaco, and the late Butch (Rita) Gonzalez. Loving “Grandma” to Christopher Perkowski, Katie (Garett) Glick, Drew (Kristy), AnneMarie, & Blake Gonzalez, and “Great-Grandma” to Gus & Jo Perkowski, Grayson & Waylon Glick, and Nina Gonzalez. Our dear Aunt, Great-Aunt, neighbor, & friend.

Virgie enjoyed her life to the fullest; always upbeat and “ready to go”! She thoroughly enjoyed her career as a typist for Fireman’s Fund & received numerous awards for her meticulous work. She “retired” to care for her aging parents and also kept busy with her “grandchildren”. Virgie and her husband, Bede, enjoyed spending time with their large extended family, as well as, friends from the “neighborhood”, Spanish Society, SAGS, & IOTA. They loved to dance and enjoyed traveling the country over the years with their favorite locales being New Orleans and Las Vegas. Locally, she most enjoyed a bite to eat at Steak ‘n Shake and going to the casino (she loved her Keno!). Although, Virgie may not have ever won the big monetary prize here on earth, we know she’s now basking in the glory of her eternal reward in heaven!!

Services: Visitation on Dec. 28, 2019 12-2 p.m. at Hoffmeister South County Chapel. Memorial service immediately following. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery at conclusion of the service.
