Arliss was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing. He and his sons shared countless memories together as part of a hunting club and especially loved their trips to Toledo Bend, where they would fish for bass. He was also known for his talent in the kitchen and was particularly proud of his famous Shrimp, Corn, and Crab Bisque—a dish he often bragged about and loved sharing with friends and family.
Family was the center of Arliss’s life. He adored his children and had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, whom he delighted in spoiling. A hardworking man, Arliss began his career in the oil field at the age of 18 and never stopped working. His strong work ethic and dedication carried through his years with Nabors Drilling. He will be remembered for his loyalty, love, and determination, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Arliss is survived by his children: Devin Blanchard, Daniel Blanchard, and Keara Blanchard (Shawn Melnyk); his mother, Arsene Blanchard; his sisters, Rosalyn Dartez (Ben) and Crystal Blanchard (Allen "Bert" Jr.); and his cherished grandchildren, Marleigh Adele Melnyk, Ivy Blaire Melnyk, and Maddox John Melnyk. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
