Lisa Vetro-Scamardella, 56, of Gulfport, FL, passed away June 16, 2024. She was born on April 18, 1968 in Mount Holly, New Jersey to Joan Vetro and Nicholas Vetro. She graduated from Burlington County Vocational High School in 1986. She was married to Giovanni Scamardella on August 21, 1999.
Being the youngest of 4, Lisa enjoyed the protection and affection of her older siblings. She was an avid roller skater and enjoyed skating on weekends. Lisa was the only female and the best player/shortstop on her local CYO baseball team and was also a cheerleader in high school.
Lisa had a career in retail until the birth of her twin daughters, when she became a homemaker and fierce Mama Bear. Lisa left the cold New Jersey weather in search of the warmth and made her home in Naples, FL initially before settling in St. Pete Beach. Lisa made a switch from her career in retail to support her husband, Giovanni, in the restaurant business with the embarking of Verducci’s restaurant. Lisa enjoyed the sun, the pool, and the beach where she could often be found. Lisa had a passion for friends and family and was gifted with striking up a conversation with a stranger and making them feel like she had known them for ages. She was a loyal friend and fiercely devoted to her family.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Giovanni; her twin daughters, Giovanna and Nicolette; mother, Joan Vetro; sister, JoAnn (Alex Todoroski); and many, brothers-and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Nicholas, and her brothers Rodney and Nicholas (affectionately called Nicky).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 445 82nd Avenue, Saint Pete Beach, FL. on Saturday, June 22nd at 12:00pm. Reception to follow at the Gulfport Casino, 5500 Shore Blvd. S.
