I am so sorry to hear this. I grew up with Manuel and his brother Raymond in Jackson Heights. We had good times in our youth. He was a fine young man and friend.

Manny was first introduced to me when I was 11, and and I thought, just another of Grace’s boyfriends. But he was so handsome and charming, I soon realized he was a keeper. He was very kind to me, and nicknamed me DeeDee Pooh.
Manny was always up for adventure, and thrills, always wanted to learn and explore new things, and adored his many collections. How many times would he be found polishing and tinkering with cameras, watches, his cars, etc….
I also saw a philosophical side to him, where he posed questions on life and the universe. Manny never stood still, always moving, doing, seeking…so how terribly ironic how his injury put a stop to that.
But he never really complained, accepted his fate, and brought smiles to those around him, exhibiting as much dignity and grace as was possible. And speaking of Grace, their  love was enduring, and for the last many years especially, they were truly bonded as one.  She was and will always be Manny’s lover and supporter.
He will be missed by so many others, especially his family - Russ and Pat, who were there for him and Grace every step of the way, Zoi and Sky, his adorable grandkids, loving Aunt Lil, Jim and myself, and numerous others. His and Grace’ s wonderful friends, Bunny, George,  Irene and Harry carry him in their hearts as well. And Magachy, who cared so well  for Manny for 13 years, will never be forgotten .
Manny was a truly remarkable man, who will live in our hearts forever. ❤️








Manny was always smiling when I saw him. The love that surrounded him was carried everywhere he went. My thoughts and prayers are with the family now. I will certainly miss his smile. 

Grace, Russ, Pat and Family.  I am thankful to have gotten to know Manny over the past years.  I will always remember the smile on his face when Grace explained  Manny's love of photography.  My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you.

My fondest memory of Manny was that he ALWAYS had the nicest smile!  Rest in peace Manny and continue smiling knowing you’re watching over Grace and your whole clan. 

It’s so hard to know where to begin. Manny meant the world to his granddaughters Zoi and Sky.  Our hearts are with them, his son, Russell and his amazing wife Grace. We are beyond blessed to have the Ricalde family in our lives. We are truly sorry for your loss. We love you all. 

Manny was like a second father to me, he was always there for the people that he loved. I was always made welcome in his home. I was honored to be his friend .

Some people have personalities so large that Earth just isn’t big enough for them. Manny was his own genuine person, with a sweet yet bold disposition. Always willing to help others, and always ready to fight for justice. He loved his family first, was an amazing husband and father. And the best papa to his grandchildren. He accepted me with open arms into the family and treated me like the daughter he didn’t have. He taught me so much about life and about love. My heart aches thinking about his passing, but I know he’s in a better place keeping an eye on us. 

What a great loss, our Manny, a remarkable man and friend, whose smile always made us feel special and loved. We have been blessed with his company from pre-marriage basement parties, weddings, births, PRP picnics, dinners in apartments, homes and fancy restaurants, camping (with kids and Bird), anniversary and birthday celebrations, vacationing in Spain and, best of all, just hanging out together. He loved people, most of all his family. Grace, Russell, Pat, Zoi, Sky, Lil, Dee...his love for each of you is his legacy. 
We pray you find the strength to bear this grief .

Dear Grace:
     Words can not express our sadness over the loss of your (and our) precious, Manny.  Manny has been such a source of joy, love and laughter to us for over 65 years  years of friendship.  He was truly blessed to have you as his wife.  No one could have loved him more or taken better care of him all these years since his aneurysm.  It is because of you, dear Grace, that Manny lived long enough to become a grandfather and experience the love and joy Zoi and Skye brought to him and live a full life despite his limitations.  
     Needless to say we will all miss him terribly especially his handsome face, happy smile and wacky sense of humor.  We hope knowing he is in God's loving embrace and free as a lark will bring you some peace.
