

Walter William Weaver age 70, of St Petersburg, FL beloved husband and father, passed away on Wednesday Oct. 11 2017, surrounded by his family at Bayfront Medical Center. He was born on July 23, 1947 in Watertown, NY to Leona Davis and Lloyd Weaver where he was the youngest of 6 children. Walt was not only a loving father and husband and a friend to all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face, was quick with the jokes and could make anyone laugh. While in NY, Walt co-founded the Guilfoyle ambulance service in Watertown, NY, became the Jefferson County Fire Coordination and stayed an active member of the Calcium Volunteer Fire Department. When moving to Florida in 1976 he continued to volunteer his time at the Pinellas Park Fire Department, NW Baseball League and St. Anthony’s Hospital. Walt had a huge heart and passion for the game of baseball and softball. He was always about the kids and loved to see everyone at the ball field. He was the president of NW Baseball League for 10 years where he also coached his kids William and Rachael in baseball and softball. Once the kids got older, he par took to coaching high school baseball at Boca Ciega with his son and travel softball with his daughter. When his son became an active member of the PPFD it gave him an excuse to get back out there again and lend a helping hand. Walt had a passion for fighting fires and loved the extended family it gave him. He enjoyed participating in ride alongs to fires and he continually volunteered his time with the PPFD by participating in the annual holiday toy drive, chili cookouts, movies in the park, and the Explorers post 945. Walt met the love of his life Linda Stevens in 1978 at St. Anthony’s hospital and they were soon married in 1980.
He is survived by his wife Linda,Stevens Weaver, Walter Jr. (Cheyenne), Jeffrey (Sandy), Sherri, Patty, William (Jennie) and Rachael, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and his PPFD Family.
