Clara Louise Carter

Clara was born in Glouster, Ohio on September 15, 1923 to Marshall and Edith Summers. Clara graduated from Glouster Highschool and attended business school in Columbus, Ohio.

Clara was married to Frank H. Cortese for 19 years, before his passing in 1964. Clara and Frank had one daughter, Edith. Clara later married Fred E. Carter in 1968 and became step-mother to Kent Carter, before Fred’s passing in 1989.

Clara worked for Fluor Daniel and retired after 26 years of service. Clara loved square dancing, gardening, traveling, socializing, and spending time with family and friends.

Clara is survived by daughter Edith Smith and step-son Kent Carter (Lynn); sister Freda Hill (Joe); grandson Damon Smith (Jennifer); granddaughter Kelley Price (Kenneth); great- grandsons Kade Price, Kieran Price, and Wesley Carter; great-granddaughters Kylah Smith, Abigail Smith, and Holly Carter.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents Marshall and Edith Summers; husbands Frank H. Cortese and Frederick E. Carter; sisters Edith Zinn and Margaret Lepley; and brother Cyril Holloway.
