Heaven called for another angel on Monday, January 16, 2017. The “Amazing” Grace Yvonne Sauls passed away with her family by her side in Sugar Land, TX, at age 61. Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 7:00PM at Earthman Southwest Funeral Home, with Rev. Willie M. Barber officiating.
A phenomenal Woman, Mother, and Grandmother who ultimately defined the term strength in every sense, was born on January 4, 1956 in Houston, TX to the late Papa (Alvin E. Sauls, SR.) and Granny (Frances Marie Sauls). She leaves behind a family that embodies all of her great traits that she was so very proud of. Grace was known for her bold presence, gracious spirit, undying strength both internally and externally, tenacity, and resourceful and courageous mindset, as well as her ability to capture the crowd as the life of the party. She always kept it “real” whether you wanted to hear it or not, and hardly ever took no for an answer. Her extensive vocabulary and compassionate heart were two tools she frequently used to “save the day” should you have found yourself in any dilemma. Grace was a proud graduate of her alma mater, Jesse H. Jones High School, “Class of 1974”. As she would always say while two-stepping with her hands raised high, “Jones is in the house!” A woman of many talents and skill sets, Grace held a variety of state level and administrative positions throughout Houston, TX, and was consistently recognized for her determination, grit, wit, and grace.
She is and will forever be missed by her children: Ebonique Leetrice Barber (Ebby) and Jonathan (son-in-law), Eric Lee Sauls (my baby), Frances Marie Sauls (Boo) and Andrew (Drew), and Francois Leon Sauls (Poo), grandchildren: Aiden (Nukums), Amare’ (Man-Man), and Aubrey (Miss Bre), brothers: Albert (Glen) Sauls, SR., and Stephen (Buddy) Sauls, SR., and a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, God-children, and her best friend. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, and eldest brother Alvin Edward Sauls, JR. (Eddie), whom all loved her dearly. Please join us in celebrating her life and legacy.
