Hazel married the love of her life, Gus Anthony Eppolito Sr., on January 8, 1966, in Stafford, Texas, and together they shared 45 years of marriage devoted to family, faith, and one another. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents, Levi Smith Sr. and Mozell Nix Smith; and her brothers and sisters Leon Smith, LeRoy Smith, Jim Smith, Lawrence Smith, Levi Smith Jr, Wanda Boyd, and Sharon Woolley.
She is survived by her son Anthony Eppolito; her daughter Robyn Olive and husband Thad; her cherished grandchildren Tyler Eppolito, Lucas Olive, Baleigh Eppolito, and Clayton Olive; her sister Faye Solomon; and numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom proudly claimed her as their favorite aunt.
Hazel worked for many years at the Imperial Sugar Company and Fort Bend ISD, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Above all, Hazel found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her faith, warmth, and steadfast love will remain a lasting legacy to all who knew her.
Family and friends are warmly invited to gather for a visitation from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 13, at Earthman Southwest Chapel in Stafford.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 14, also at Earthman Southwest Chapel in Stafford, followed by a graveside burial at Morton Cemetery in Richmond.
Immediately following the burial, family and friends are invited to continue sharing memories and fellowship at a reception at the Morton Masonic Hall, located at 211 Morton Street, Richmond, Texas 77469.
