

Heberto (Beto) R. Ortiz passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to Elia and the late Nicolas Ortiz, Jr. on May 7th, 1957 in Houston, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Kubitza Ortiz of Missouri City, Texas, mother, Elia Ortiz of Angleton, Texas and brother and wife Mario & Amy Ortiz of Brazoria and brother and wife, Paula and Nick Ortiz of Florida and his loving nieces and nephew Rachel and Bailey Ortiz, and Mark Wasserman of Houston, Texas.
He spent most of his working career at Fluor Corporation in Sugar Land, Texas and Kelly Services for Dow Chemical in Houston as a civil and structural designer. He graduated December 1988 from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, California. He worked as a pastry chef for Tony's Restaurant in Houston.
His interests and passions were many. He loved to cook for his wife, family and friends. He loved to fish and hunt. He entertained us with his love for the blues harmonica and music. He loved to show and tell of his collection of toys and harmonicas to everyone. He loved to travel the world. His biggest attribute were the smiles he brought to everyone's faces. He was so loved by his wife, family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, March 11th, 2017 at 12:00pm noon Earthman Southwest Funeral Home located at 12555 S. Kirkwood, Stafford, TX 77477
