Mary Lou Click Cooper, 79, after a long illness, went to meet her Lord Monday, August 23, 2021, with her husband, daughter and granddaughter at her side. Preceding her death were her parents, Rollie Charles Click and Louella Huey. She was the last surviving member of her family consisting of her sister Lena Ellen and brothers Charles Eugene, John Raymond, Robert Glen and George Henry.
She was an exceptional quilter, winning awards at local quilt shows as well as at the International Quilt Show held yearly at the George R. Brown Convention Center. She was a member of the Church of Christ from an early age. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or any family event. Her generosity and good works were an inspiration to her family and others. Always kind, she was a blessing to everyone she met.
After a long and happy marriage her husband Ernie Greely died. She then married F. Don Cooper whose wife, Linda Lou Lee had died after 33 years of marriage. When asked what he was like, she replied, “I got a new husband, almost trained”. Two new families were joined: her daughter Robbie Miller, husband Jeff Miller, daughter Amy Miller and son Kyle Miller welcomed Don’s daughter Kelly Grimes, husband Delaney Grimes, daughter Julie Grimes, sons Jason Grimes and Evan Grimes. Don’s son Steven Cooper, wife Tammy Saint, sons David Cooper and Ryan Cooper and numerous new uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Mary Lou was a wonderful grandmother to all.
