

A warrior until the end, Bobby survived again and again, even after the doctors declared him dead. Ultimately, after fighting for his life inside the Memorial Hermann Hospital Intensive Care Unit, God finally gave his soul rest & called him home.
Bobby left behind a legacy of love, laughter and good times. He was a hard-working man with strong principles, good character and a personality that one could never forget.
Born on September 15,1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bobby attended Tulsa Public Schools. As a teen, he enjoyed playing football at Booker T. Washington High School and having a good time with family and friends. It was during those years, over 40 years ago, he met the love of his life, Cynthia Bennett. After starting his career in the oil and gas industry in Tulsa, Bobby moved to Houston in 2003 to join Cynthia.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father Thomas Robert “Brock” Pennington; mother Jannie Maie “Boo” Pennington; brother Curtis Hutchinson; sisters Dora Lee Bell and Ira Jean “Buttercup” Pennington; and nephew Mark Hutchinson. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Cynthia Bennett Pennington of Houston; daughter Lakisha Pennington of Houston; daughter Carmen Pennington of Hemet, California; son Dwight Oakley, Jr. of Houston; grandsons Kishawn, Jashawn, Eric and Dequan; granddaughters Naya and Kimora; great grandchildren Chase, Adriel and Alaya; niece Jeanette Hutchinson; nephews Reginald Thompson, Deondray Pennington, William Trout, and Jace Bell, III; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
