William, known affectionately as Bill, was born on January 04, 1949 in Big Spring, Texas. He was the eldest son of Earl Crady Vandervoort and Betty Kathryn Kaiser.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael Lee Vandervoort.
Bill served in the Air Force for 24 years and was a Vietnam War veteran. In his second career, Bill was a Sr. Aviator Meterologist for 20 plus years with Rockwell Collins in Houston, Texas. His favorite past time was working corners and ensuring the safety of others at SCCA racing events, which he did well into his sixties.
Bill was an intelligent and funny man with a big personality. Bill loved the weather, auto racing, airplanes, the daily comics, and was an avid history book reader. He had a wonderful sense of humor, which sometimes needed an explanation.
Most of all, Bill will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, MaryLee Wright Vandervoort, daughter, Leandrea Mossbarger, sister, Kathryn Williams, nephews, Rob Vandervoort, Blake and Jared Williams, Jaime Vandervoort, as well as many cousins. Particularly, Judy Lucas, who he loved like a sister.
