Austin James Smith

Austin James Smith passed away too soon at the age of 30 on February 3rd, 2018. He was the second son of Chuck Smith and Dianna Davis, born on December 18, 1987, in Falls Church, Virginia and was a lifelong Stafford County resident.

Austin attended Stafford County Public schools from Kindergarten to High School. After graduating from North Stafford High School he attended Auburn University and Virginia Commonwealth University. He then answered his calling to serve his country and enlisted with the United States Marine Corps Reserves. While serving his country he found the determination and will power to pave a path toward a career in law enforcement. His long time dreams of serving his local community came true after graduating from the Northern Virginia Police Academy (Session 132) and joining the ranks of the Manassas City Police Department in June of 2015. He created many strong bonds and relationships with those in the community and the department while serving as both a patrol officer and a dispatcher. When Austin’s time with the police department was cut short due to his health, he found a renewed passion in crane operating and began working for A&A Transfer Inc. of Chantilly, Virginia.

Anyone who met Austin could tell that he was a kind-hearted soul. Always a gentleman and willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. We can all agree that what we will miss most are his smiles and the laughs. He never failed to make someone laugh even on the toughest days.

Austin is survived by his parents, Chuck Smith and Dianna Davis, his brothers, Drew Smith (Kelsey) and Ryan Smith, his adorable nephew, Benjamin, grandmothers, Gladys Smith, and Elizabeth Storck, grandfather, William Brown, in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his wife, Jacklyn Smith. He is preceded in death by grandfather, Robert Smith.

Visitation to be held Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 2-4pm and again from 6-8 pm at Mulllins and Thompson Funeral Service located at 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, VA 22554.

Memorial Service to be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10am at Mulllins and Thompson Funeral Service located at 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, VA 22554.
