

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles “Chuck” Jacob Julian; her parents, Arthur and Anna Erickson; and two brothers, Warren and Robert “Bob” Erickson.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an elementary school teacher and taught all grades from kindergarten through 4th grade over her more than 40 years of teaching across the country. She concluded her career at Hartwood Elementary School in Stafford. She especially loved teaching, reading, and was also an avid mystery reader, crossword puzzle solver, and Jeopardy watcher. She was also known for always having treats available, and generously baked goods to share with others. She loved her grandchildren and was always there to support them as much as she could.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Janet L. Hunt (John B.), and Dianne L. King (Alan); her son, Michael “Mike” (Julie); ten grandchildren and their spouses, five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends across the country.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Mullins and Thompsons Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, 186 Shelton Shop Rd., from 6 until 8 p.m. A Funeral Services will be held at her home church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 161 Eustace Rd., Stafford, VA 22554, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m.
She Will be laid to rest with her husband at Quantico National Cemetery.
