Mr. Wilkerson owned C. E. Wilkerson Trucking Inc., for 50 years.
He was born in Virginia on March 18, 1934 Collins McKindly and Myrtle Ione (Stahl) Wilkerson and is a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents Mr. Wilkerson is preceded in death by a brother Collins Wilkerson and a sister, Jean McGowan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Christine Joyce Wilkerson; sons, Charles Edward Wilkerson Jr., Larry Daniel Wilkerson (Regina) and Gary Dean Wilkerson (Susan) all of Fredericksburg; other survivors include his sister, Doris Beard of Richmond; brother, Bobby Wilkerson (Barbara) of Fredericksburg; four grandchildren, Katheren, Courtney, Kendall and Riley Wilkerson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 12, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 13 at 11 AM with interment to follow at Stafford Memorial Park.
