Dorothea "Tia" Townsend, 64, of Stafford County passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at her home with her family by her side. Tia was born on Dec. 1, 1949, to Ernest and Antonia Schollmeyer. She was a training specialist at MCCS Quantico.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lynn Townsend; a son, Aaron Thomas Townsend; and three sisters, Gisela Bierbaum, Louann Soukup and Juaneta Lammers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, 186 Shelton Shop Road.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 22, at St. William Of York Catholic Church, 3130 Jefferson Davis Highway, Stafford. Interment will follow at noon at Quantico National Cemetery.
