Gladys Johnston, 72 passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and close friends, on Sunday, October 12, 2014. Gladys was a member of Saint William of York Catholic Church. Originally from Panama, Gladys called Stafford her home since 1984.
She was preceded in death by her husband, MGySgt (Ret) Floyd David Johnston, Sr. She is survived by her four children: Floyd, of Charleston, SC; Fred, of Stafford; Brenda, of Summerville, SC; and John, of Summerville, SC; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She is also survived by two sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews in Panama.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 6:30-7:30 pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford. A funeral mass will be held at St. William of York Catholic church on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11:30 am, with burial to follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the American Lung Association.
