Lois Maxine Dinger, age 79, a 30+ year resident of Stafford, Virginia passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
Lois was born on June 12, 1943 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to the late Arthur and Gussie Shaffer.
Lois was a treasured wife for 59 years, a beloved mother to five children, and a much-loved Mama to 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to sermons and gospel music, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. She unselfishly put others’ needs before her own and exuded loving kindness to everyone she met. Strangers quickly became friends, as she freely shared her heartfelt smile. She was the epitome of love and humbleness. Lois was immensely proud of her family. Words cannot express how much she is loved and will be deeply missed by her family.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Gussie (Shick) Shaffer of Punxsutawney, PA; sister, Barbetta (Murray) Wolfe of Hubbard, OH; and her brothers, Williams (Ethel) Shaffer of Worthville, PA and Howard (Lois) Shaffer of Pulaski, PA.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Dinger of Stafford, VA; her sisters, Ramona (late husband, Willard) Bussard of Coudersport, PA, and Karen (late husband, Donald) Pierce of Owensboro, KY; her son, Robert (Jennifer) Dinger Jr. of Fairfield, PA; her daughters, Cheryl Adams of Brookville, PA, Christine (Rickey) Olson of Brookville, PA, Shelby (Kenneth) Meckley of Lorton, VA, and Sonya (Cisco) Manthey of Stafford, VA. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Wyatt, Tessa, Brittany, Brad, Hali, Dillon, Alexa, Kenny, Monica, Hunter, and Blake; and her great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kasen, Raylin, Eli, and Parker.
