
Mike faithfully served his Lord and Savior throughout his life through his unwavering church attendance, as a teacher, a lead usher, and as an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Mike’s passion for cooking provided wonderful meals for family and friends, especially his gourmet creations.
Born on September 25, 1954, to Patrick and Catherine Reidy in Baumholder, Germany, Michael graduated from Garfield High School in Woodbridge, Virginia in 1974. He soon met and married Lois Lussenden, the love of his life.
From 1980 to 2019 he worked for the Washington Post in Springfield, where he joined the Communications Workers of America (CWA) (Local 29) Union. His work ethic and attention to detail followed him through a fruitful 39-year career.
Michael was predeceased by his father, Patrick J. Reidy, Sr; his mother, Catherine Reidy; his brother, Patrick J. Reidy, Jr; and his sister, Kathie Reidy. He is survived by his wife, Lois; sisters Cece and Francis Reidy; and several nieces and nephews.
A Catholic Mass will be held at Saint William of York Catholic Church in Stafford, VA on April 4th at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend. The service will be followed by visitation and a light lunch at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Home, Stafford, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Project Linus of Culpepper, Virginia, an organization that creates quilted blankets to provide comfort for children of all ages.
