Mr. Dills was born in Ojai, California on February 20, 1934, to Oscar W. and Belle Dills. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters: Christine Moore, Willie Dickson, Dolores Schweitzer, and Barbara Mecham. He is survived by two sisters, Joy Boyd of Fredericksburg, VA and June Kearns of Rixeyville, VA, and two brothers, Willard Dills of Port Orange, FL, and Billy Dills of Calhoun, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Dills attended high school in Franklin, NC before moving to Washington, D.C. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1955, serving in the United States and in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1957. He remained in Washington, D.C. for most of his life where he worked in a variety of occupations until his death.
Mr. Dills will be buried with military honors in a private ceremony at Quantico National Cemetery. Mullins Thompson Funeral Home will handle the arrangements. Expressions of sympathy in Mr. Dills’ honor may be made to the charity of one’s choosing.
