

Patrick Joseph Brosnan, who left us on February 20, 2025, at the age of 71. Patrick was born on March 20, 1953, in County Kerry, Ireland, and immigrated to the Washington Heights section of NYC, eventually settling in the Bronx, New York, where he began a life full of hard work, service, and love.
A proud member of the United States Marine Corps, Paddy enlisted and proudly attained the rank of Private First Class (PFC). For those that knew Paddy, Nov 10th was his Super Bowl. Semper Fi Marines! His service to his country was an integral part of the person he became—a man who valued honor, commitment, and camaraderie.
In the early 1970s, Paddy met the love of his life, Helen. They spent 49 wonderful years together, building a life filled with laughter, support, and a deep connection. Their love story was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Paddy was a cherished member of the Stafford, VA, community and the proud proprietor of both Rooney’s and Paddy’s Public House, beloved gathering spots known for their hospitality and warmth. Through his businesses, he formed lasting friendships and welcomed all with a smile, creating a legacy of service, generosity, and kindness that will be remembered for years to come.
Paddy is survived by his loving wife, Helen, and their four sons: Michael (Debbie), Kevin (Julie), Brian (Katie), and Timothy (Tanya) all of Stafford, VA. He was a proud grandfather to Liam, Sean, Ashley, Charlotte, Chris, Finn, Killian, and Ryker. Paddys love for his family was boundless, and his legacy lives on in the hearts of his children and grandchildren.
Paddy, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his brothers Johnny Brosnan, Mickey Brosnan, Joe Brosnan sister Winnie Kohlberger, nieces Dawn Brosnan, Deirdre Brady, Paula Frederick, Debra Coleman and nephew Edward Brosnan;
Paddy will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter that filled the rooms, and the love he gave to everyone he met. Semper Fi Marine.
A visitation for Patrick will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, Virginia 22554. A memorial service will occur Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Inurnment will be held at a later date, in Quantico National Cemetery. Following the services a celebration of life will follow at Paddys Public House.
