William “Patrick” Jones, 55, died Thursday, December 8, 2016 at home, surrounded by loving family. Pat battled his cancer with great courage, and his family expresses gratitude to those who worked so hard to help him. Special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Burman, Endicronologist at Washington Hospital Center and Dr. Paul Kiernan, head of Thoracic Surgery at INOVA Fairfax. Pat’s trust in them was never misplaced.
Pat leaves behind his wife Penny Beard Jones, daughter Kate Elizabeth Jones, and son William Alexander Jones; his brothers Fred Jones and Daniel Jones (wife Sue); his nieces Renee Haines and Billie Jean Lindquist, nephew Terence Jones, and Pat’s loving aunt, Dorothy Acciai, as well as many cousins in Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Hugh Beard (wife Karen), and John Beard (wife Alisa), and their children.
Pat was blessed with many friends, among them being his fishing partner of 23 years Tom Caulfield, long-time friend Richard Perrin, his brothers in Christ at Regester Chapel Church, and his Sonalysts Inc. family, where he worked for 30 years.
Pat was born and raised in West Alexander, PA, on his family farm, attended the University of Pittsburgh, and moved to the Stafford area in the 1980s where he met and married his wife Penny. Patrick was a faithful Christian who spent much of his time supporting his church. He was an avid fly-fisherman who enjoyed sharing his passion with cancer survivors. He embraced the peaceful time spent on the Cacapon River in the West Virginia mountains, particularly with his Fire Pit crew.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, December 11, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 186 Shelton Shop Rd, Stafford, VA, 22554.
