Dear Grandpa/Pop-Pop,

Although I may not have many memories of you as we knew each other when I was very young, I miss you each and every day. In Heaven, I am sure you are proud of me each and every day, from my time in high school to when I am swimming at a swim meet, I am always thinking of you. I love you so much, and we will meet again someday!

I worked with Andy for many years in White Plains, Somers and Sterling Forest. He was a good man, always ready to help and very funny. While I haven't seen him in many years, he is always one of the people I think about when I remember my years at IBM... To Andy's family, I am very sorry for your loss.....Jim Dietz

I had the privilege of working with Andy in the White Plains Branch Office. My thoughts, prayers and condolences go out to his family.

Uncle Andy's passing closes one chapter on the Berta family (John III [father], Anna [mother], and John IV [brother]) that started in the small village of Kolc Dlhe/ Dlhe Klcovo, Czecho-Slovakia.  They were reunited in New York City on the Fourth of July 1946 after eleven years of separation.  On the day they were supposed to leave Kolc Dlhe, Uncle Andy ran away not wanting to leave other family and friends.  Well, he never regretted leaving.
As I remember growing up, he was a part of a family that pulled together in hard times.  We worked hard and we "played" hard.  Uncle Andy had a circle of friends that were close, and whereever they went, they kept in touch.  Uncle Andy enjoyed life, and help others enjoy it too.  He always left behind a positive impression.
Growing up, Uncle Andy exposed me to things he thought that I would benefit from, music, sports, and tall tales of female relationships.  Aside from my father, Uncle Andy was a man I looked up--I wanted to grow up and work at IBM, or teach.  Okay, the IBM thing didn't work out, but I have been teaching for almost thirty years. At confirmation I took Andrew as my middle name.
Uncle Andy was never afraid to take chances if he believed he would benefit from them.  Whether in the Marine Corps, or at IBM, he may not have known much about a specific task, but he had a knack of learning quick.  
Uncle Andy's successes in life represent what a person could accomplish in this country given half a chance.  He took it, succeeded, and then helped others achieve their goals.
To my Aunt Ann, and cousins Natalie, Cynthia, and Jason, these are just a few of the memories I have of your husband and father.

Dear Berta Family, I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Andy back in the 70's in the White Plains Branch Office. I was so happy to see him at our monthly CE meeting this past summer, he was his old charming self.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Berta Family, I am sorry for the loss of Andy. I worked in Administration In the White Plains Office but have fond memories of Andy. My condolences to the Family, He will be missed.

To Ann and Family,
  I worked with Andy back in Harrison too... and I remember his laugh so well.  Looking at the photo album brought back such great memories.  He was fun to work with, and like the rest of the team I was on, taught me so much.  One thing that was such a part of him was his family.... he would talk about all of you often!  I am so sorry for your loss.

To the Berta family, my condolences on your loss, I worked with Andy for approximately ten years from mid 60's to mid 70's.  We had some great times together.

I'll always remember,working with Andy in Harrison, back 30 some years ago. My heart felt prayers go out to his family.
