Catherine Ippolito

Catherine (Russo) Ippolito was born October 31st, 1932 in New York City. She attended Hunter High School, graduating as valedictorian in 1949. Catherine then attended Mt Holyoke College, majoring in Chemistry and graduating in 1953. She married Ugo Frank Ippolito in New York City in 1960 and they lived in Hastings-on-Hudson where their four children were born. In 1970 they moved to Birmingham, Michigan and 7 years later moved again to Atlanta, GA where they lived for over 30 years. For the past five years Catherine has lived in Stamford, CT to be closer to children and grandchildren. Catherine was a Master Gardener, an avid supporter of Mt Holyoke College and St Jude’s Catholic Church in Atlanta. She loved to travel and made friends everywhere. Above all she cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Catherine was pre-deceased by her parents Carlo and Carmela Russo, brother Gabriel, and her beloved husband Ugo. She is survived by her children Julie (Ippolito) Woodard and husband John, Thomas Ippolito, Charles Ippolito and his wife Jean, Marc Ippolito and his wife Christie, as well as 7 grandchildren; Jennifer, Nicholas, Jessica, Mariah, Eliza, Lucas and Cole. Services will be Thursday July 20th at 10am at Saint Catherine’s of Sienna in Greenwich CT followed by a burial at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mount Vernon, Sandy Springs GA at noon on Saturday, July 22nd, with a reception to follow.
