She was born in Brooklyn and moved to Stamford and as a parishioner of Christ Church in Greenwich she met her husband, Frederick Fox Herman who predeceased her in 1986.
Prior to her marriage to Frederick she worked at Yale and Towne and subsequently Fawcett Publications.
They originally settled in Glenbrook before moving to Norwalk in 1964, where they lived for many years raising their 2 daughters.
She was an avid philatelist or stamp collector as it is more commonly known. She was also a member of the NARVRE, National Association of Retired & Veteran Railway Employees until her stroke in 2000.
In addition to her two daughters, Barbara and Judy Herman, she is survived by her three nieces, Debbie, Patty and Susan, her nephew, Bill and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was also predeceased by her siblings, Herbert, Charlie, Alice, and Robert.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 16th from 1pm to 3pm at the Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford. A graveside service will be held at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn Ave, Stamford on Thursday, May 17th at 1pm.
