Helaine was born in New Jersey, and later raised in New Haven.
Her first job as a resident buyer in NYC led to her meeting her beloved husband Norman, and to a marriage lasting over 60 years.
Upon moving to Stamford, Helaine became an early member of Roxbury Swim and Tennis Club, where she met many lifelong friends.
She was a devoted volunteer, giving her time freely to Stamford Hospital, Whitney Museum and Reading Partners.
Helaine became an active member of the Edge Hill community and was involved in many committees and activities.
Her love of travel and the arts, and sense of style and fun will be fondly remembered by her countless friends, whom she cherished.
Helaine was pre-deceased by her husband Norman Miller, and is survived by her daughters Casey Miller Allen of Denver, and Meredith Long, and son-in-law Michael Long, and grandsons Jason and Daniel, all of England.
Donations in Helaine’s memory to either The Stamford Centre for the Arts, or the Edge Hill Library Fund.
