

James E. Bowman, 62, of Stamford, CT passed away of natural causes on September 19, 2010. Jim was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 27, 1947 and grew up in Pittsburgh, Bethlehem, PA and New Hartford, NY. He graduated from New Hartford High School in 1965 and earned the B.S. degree in Accounting from Syracuse University.
Jim worked for General Electric Co. in Utica, NY and Stamford, CT where he held accounting positions of increasing responsibility eventually specializing in corporate tax accounting. He subsequently served as Director of Taxes for several companies. His last position was as a consultant in tax accounting for Jefferson Wells in Stamford, CT.
Jim is survived by his children: Christopher Bowman of Waterbury, CT, Heather (Chris) Freeman of Nantucket, MA and Kristen Lee Bowman of Washington, DC. Jim was blessed with five grandchildren: Samantha and Christopher Bowman, Samuel, Alexander and Benjamin Freeman. Other survivors include Jacquelyn Wiggins, mother of Christopher and Heather; Linda Craig, mother of Kristen Lee; brother Harry W. (Raelene) Bowman of Lake Forest, IL; nephews, David (Stacey) Bowman of Chicago, IL, Kevin Bowman of Minneapolis, MN, Craig Bowman of Oakland, CA; cousin Judith Olsson of Baltimore, MD and extended family member Steven Burchesky of Cannonsburg, PA.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday September 27 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Utica, NY.
