Lyudmila (“Lucy”) Voskoboynik , longtime resident of Brooklyn, NY and more recently, a resident of Ridgefield, CT, passed away on March 22. She was 89. Born in Odessa, in the former Soviet Union, she was the daughter of Shulim and Tsilia Kleinman. She graduated from INEAS (college of language studies and education) in Moscow. She was employed all her life as a teacher and was passionate about her profession – continuing to teach English as a second language until she finally retired at age 85.
Although she lived through the horrors of World War II as a child and survived a difficult journey of immigration to America, she never lost her spirit. She loved to dance and sing. And most of all, she loved people – talking with people and making friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Irina Frayer, her sister, Tanya Grinberg, her grandchildren, Julia and Maxim Frayer, and her two grandchildren, Alessandro and Gabriel Franciosa. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Isaak Voskoboynik less than two years ago. May her soul join his soul in heaven and find peace.
Graveside Services were performed on March 27, 2020 at the Beth El Cemetery in Stamford, CT. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to a charity of your choice.
