Mary Revella Sowitcky

Mary R. Sowitcky, 93, formerly of Stamford, CT, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2014, in Athens, GA.
Mary was born in Greenwich, CT on December 17, 1920, to Andrew and Susanna Hudri Revella. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, Peter Sowitcky, her sister in law, Anne Stashenko (John Sr.), her brother Andrew Revella (Freda), sister Anne Nessler (Joseph), sister Amelia Hinlicky Pirina (John), and brother Paul B. Revella.
Mrs. Sowitcky is survived by her son & daughter in law, Peter and Rosemary Robinson Sowitcky, Jr., of West Haven, CT, daughter and son in law Linda Sue and Paul Schroeder, of Watkinsville, GA and grandchildren Peter Sowitcky, III (Toni Ann), Amy Lynn Sowitcky (Justin Schlauder), Hilary Skye Schroeder, Dustin James Schroeder, and Heidi Ann Schroeder. She is also survived by one great granddaughter, her namesake, Mary Jean Sowitcky and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and more recently a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Athens, GA. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and sang in the choir. Mary was retired from Clairol Inc., having worked in the factory and as a traffic clerk.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Arbor Terrace of Athens, GA for the 7 years of excellent care she received there.
The family will receive family and friends from 9-10am on Saturday, September 7, at the Bosak-Talboys Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT 06905, with a service to follow at 10:30 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Seaside Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902 with Rev. Jack Breznan officiating. Graveside services will follow immediately afterward at Fairfield Memorial Park Cemetery at 230 Oaklawn Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 265 Seaside Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902. Arrangements under the direction of Bosak-Talboys Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT.
