
She was the daughter of Margaret and James Kelly. She was born in New York, New York on April 11, 1922 and grew up in Manhattan and attended Corpus Christi Grammar School. She also was a graduate of Fordham University.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, John L. Lyons. They lived in London and Italy for many years and she leaves friends in Europe, as well as the United States, to mourn her passing.
She was predeceased by her loving brother, Martin Kelly,and she leaves behind her two cherished sisters, Mary Reilly and Margaret Wetterer. She also leaves behind her three beloved children, Margaret Kessler (spouse Steven), Michael Lyons (spouse Dawn) and Anne Steers (spouse Michael). She delighted in her grandchildren, Lilly, Emma and Nancy and her great grandchild Abigail.
Nancy was the co-author of two children's books, one of them a book on wild flowers. And she loved her beautiful garden at her home.
Nancy had a great zest for life and was always fun to be with. She will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her.
The wake will be held at Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home at 31 Arch Street, Greenwich Ct on Monday August 1st from 4-7pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church on Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT at 10 am on Tuesday August 2nd. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Smile Train at www.SmileTrain.org.
