“I Am Free”
Don’t grieve for me for I’m free,
I took God’s hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to work, laugh,
love or play
I’ve found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left you void,
then fill it with
remembered laughter and joy
friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah, yes these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with time of sorrow
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much, family friends,
And a loved one’s touch, perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your head, wipe away your tears, laugh, smile with me
God wanted me now
He set me free
