Regina Marianna Katharina (Piatek) Hall, a longtime resident of Stamford, Connecticut, passed away on January 19, 2026, at her most recent home in Allenstown, New Hampshire. After a long, fearlessly fought illness, Regina's final days and moments found her surrounded, comforted and embraced by love. Her family will forever hold dear how bravely she held on, 25 days past Christmas, to ensure each planned visit happened and that this chapter would close according to her terms.
Born on May 26, 1950, in Michelstadt, Germany, Regina was the daughter of John and Emilie Ilse Piatek. At the age of 10, she became a naturalized United States citizen, after spending her earliest years in Germany, and Prince Edward Island, Canada. Her early journey shaped her resilience, independence, and adaptability.
Regina attended Holy Name of Jesus School in Stamford and later graduated from Immaculate High School in Danbury, CT where she participated in choir and earned state-wide recognition in Junior Achievement. She went on to spend most of her working life with The Food Emporium, beginning at Shopwell in the early 1970s. She started as a bookkeeper, and later worked as a meat wrapper. Through years of dedication and hard work, she retired as Seafood Manager and was a member of UFCW Local 464A. She was known for her reliability, strong work ethic, and taking pride in her work, traits she exemplified throughout her strong dedication to her family and loved ones. Regina also went on to start her own family in Stamford, CT, close to her loved ones and church.
Regina was widowed on December 25, 1997, with the loss of her beloved husband, Harry H. Hall Sr. She never remarried, instead devoting herself to maintaining her independence, and ultimately retired to the type of woodland setting that she and her husband had both dreamed of calling home. She devoted her later years to family, often traveling between New Hampshire and Connecticut, and remained closely connected to those she loved. She also enjoyed many hours tending her gardens and flowers.
Throughout her 75 years, Regina’s language was acts of love. Everything she did was done with intention and meaning. She expressed care not just through words but through action, quietly and consistently, and wholeheartedly always. She especially enjoyed the spirit of Christmas, a season she cherished deeply, giving generously to others and making her home welcoming with joy and decoration. It was not uncommon for Regina to delay a trip to Connecticut to finish her gift wrapping, or delay her trip if the Christmas cookie baking was not quite finished. Such small acts reflected how much thought she put into caring for others, consistently through all her days.
Regina is survived by her daughter, Karrie-Ann Vicente, and her husband Edwin of Raymond, New Hampshire; her son, Harry H. Hall Jr., and his wife Kelly of Berlin, Connecticut; her stepdaughters, Doreen LeGrand (Derek, deceased) and Karen Evans and her husband Mark, all of Norwalk, Connecticut, and Kathy Hall of Stamford, Connecticut. She was a dedicated and extremely proud grandmother of six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Regina was predeceased by her sister, Irene Covello, and brothers, Francis (Dorean) Piatek and Bernard (Brigitte) Hutter. She is survived by three brothers, John Piatek of Arizona, Edward Piatek of New Hampshire, and Anthony Piatek of West Virginia, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be St. Jude, the children's hospital dear to Regina always. In memory of Regina, the family asks that you pay it forward through acts of kindness, generosity, and care for others, honoring the way she lived her life, which she reminded many of us had been "a very good life."
A visitation will be held at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT, 06905, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Holy Name of Jesus, 325 Washington Blvd, Stamford, CT, 06902, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rock Rimmon Rd, Stamford, CT, 06903.
