Sophie K. Lougee, 93, of Darien, wife of the late Richard G. Lougee, passed away on Sept. 24. Daughter of the late Panerata and James Kakunes, she was born on Sept. 26, 1919, in Stamford. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Lougee of San Diego, CA, grandson, Richard Lougee, III, and two great grandchildren, Thomas and Gina Lougee. She was also predeceased by her son, Richard Lougee, Jr. and five siblings. A long-time resident of Darien, she loved cooking and devoted herself to caring for others. For many years she volunteered at Church of the Archangels and Meals on Wheels. Her funeral service will be at Church of the Archangels, 1527 Bedford St., Stamford, CT 06905 at 1pm on Oct. 1; viewing will begin one hour earlier (12pm) at the Church.
