

Judy Lane Robinson, born September 9, 1946, passed away peacefully in the loving care of Trustbridge Hospice by the Sea in Pompano Beach, FL, on Saturday, April 9, 2022. She had been living in FL and was receiving medical and alternative cancer treatments to fight her 10-year battle with colorectal cancer. Judy graduated from Pfeiffer University in 1968 and came to Knoxville, TN. At the same time, she pursued her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law; she opened the Sunflower Health Store at 4216 Sutherland Avenue, which closed in 2020. Judy was the Managing Director of the Tennessee Children’s Dance Ensemble (TCDE) since 1981. An extraordinarily talented and intelligent author, poetry writer, attorney, realtor, and member of Redemption Church of Knoxville, TN.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hendon Robinson, and his wife, Hassie (Holmes) Robinson and Beulah Holmes (Rudy) Cole. She was survived by cousins Jacob Robinson (Sherry), Belmont, NC; Gail (Jenkins) Apruzzi, Fort Lauderdale, FL; Elizabeth Jenkins (William) & son Clark Adams of Lexington, NC; Sandy (Robinson) Ware, Cramerton, NC; friends Joann Rollins, Mount Holly, NC; Brenda (Hart) McConnell of Chattanooga, TN.
She also will be greatly missed by her dearest friend and caregiver, Carrie Wagner, Knoxville, TN; Irena Linn, Artistic Director of TCDE; Vicki Hines; Travis Beeler; Cheri McKeever; Virginia Rose; Sandra Tallman; Beverly Pugh and Kathy Hartsook Wright; all of Knoxville, TN, and Debra Gesser, Boca Raton, FL, along with many more dear friends who loved her.
On Thursday, April 14, services will be held at 10 am at Carothers Funeral Home, 412 South Main Street, Stanley, NC 28164. Graveside service immediately following at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Hwy, Mount Holly, NC 28120.
