William Lee Sutton

He was a native of Jackson County and the son of the late Austin and Minnie Pangle Sutton.

Mr. Sutton was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and a self employed painting contractor.

He is survived by his wife; Mary Young Sutton, a step son; Jimmy Hogue and wife Glenda of Chester, SC, a step daughter; Rosetta Capps and husband Wilford of Gastonia, three brothers; David Sutton of Belmont, Donald Sutton of Mt. Holly, Vance Sutton of Sylva, three sisters; Inez Smith of Belmont, Yvonne Parker and Hermie Sutton both of Sylva, six step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren and 3 step great great grandchildren.

Mr. Sutton was preceded in death by his parents and a brother A.G.Sutton.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel in Stanley with the Rev. Odell Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
