The first time I met Allan, I knew he was someone I would never forget. Allan had a love of life and family that everyone should emulate.  He shared ideas, opinions, humor and most of all his love of family. Whenever Nancy would be working on my hair, Alan would come up behind her and grab her in an embrace, sometimes grabbing her behind. Nancy would yell out, “Al, knock it off”, and roll her eyes and laugh. I saw it as a deep love for his wife. He would ask her if she needed anything , from a drink, or breakfast, to the wash being done. He would even jump in and help with my highlights. Lol. I was witness to his amazing love for his wife and children many times. The love he had for them was infinitesimal and infectious. Everyone should be as lucky as his family to know such love. Allan and Nancy’s love story is one for the books and I am so honored to have been a witness to it. 
 Michael and Jules, he loved you both beyond measure. He always wanted the best for you. May the many memories made,  wrap you in comfort on the difficult days. I know he will always be nearby watching and loving you all. He will truly be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Allan's passing. We worked together for many years at GED Plus. His sense of humor was like no other—my condolences to the family.

No one could make me laugh like Allan. Of course, it was usually a joke about Dean.
His love and devotion to family embodied his being.  His whole life revolved around making sure everyone he loved was cared for and doing well.  One of my favorite memories that truly tells the amazing man Allan was is when we were all on a family vacation in North Carolina. Our children were all young and Allan (ever the lifeguard) used to sit and just watch them vigilantly as they played in the ocean. One day, my twin sons, Thomas and Joseph (they were about 5) wanted to go in further than they could. Imagine my surprise and how my love for Allan grew, when I looked up and Uncle Allan had a boy in each arm and was carrying them into the ocean.  That’s just who he was….a man who cared for all he loved.  He will be missed terribly; but stories  of all the lives he’s touched, including mine, will live on forever.❤️

I met Allan while working OACE night school and it was most fortunate event in my career .  Allan was the greatest supervisor who truly cared about his work and everyone he worked with.   He was  brilliant  and  truly caring about his work.  When Allan visited a classroom to make observations he couldn't help himself from getting involved, teaching the lesson with you, and helping all the students individually.  His presence was always felt and his impact was great.    
 Allan was an irreplaceable friend who had a tremendous impact on me and my family.  My wife and children loved him. Anyone that met Allan loved him .  I will greatly miss visiting  him in Florida, spending holidays with his family, having dinner with his  family, and all the incredible advice  on how to raise my kids and be the best father to my own children.  I cannot thank him enough for all he has done.   He will be forever remembered in my heart .

Allan, my AP, honest, thoughtful, supportive, caring, loved teaching  & a true family man- i can go on but he liked things short & his  response even shorter. Nancy- he always said I married up. Allan Baldassano, or as I knew him Mr. Baldassano, was someone I met through his daughter Julia. We didn’t have much in common, but we both loved Julia. I admired how much he loved his family. His carefree teasings with them, his devotion to their well-being, and his constant displays of affection towards his wife and children are qualities I hope to emulate with my own family. Every time I invited Jules over without fail he would call her to check on her and tell her that he loved her. When we were roommates he’d call and visit her often despite the long drive. He was a man that even someone like me, who didn’t know him very long, knew that he loved his family more than anything in the world without a shadow of a doubt.

Al and our friends were so immature in college. We often played the gotcha/circle finger game. Al’s favorite gotcha move was pretending to scratch his back to get you when you were walking behind him. He loved to give you a solid punch on the shoulder when you looked at it. We also enjoyed the “crossing your fingers so you won’t be it” game, also known as cooties. In later years, Al was in my wedding party so I had to keep my fingers crossed during my ceremony so I wouldn’t be “it” on my wedding day.  I will miss you dearly.  Such a funny guy with a warm heart.

Allan was what you see is what you get kind of guy, loved that about him,  he spoke his mind when it came to politics and didn't care about being politically correct..  He was a great husband and father, you always knew by his actions how much he adored Nancy and his children.   We will miss him dearly RIP Allan xoxo

He Mastered the Art of Jujutsu.  His contributions were endless.  So very honored that he achieved this rank.

My favorite memories of Alan was first when I was a little kid swimming in their pool.  I don’t know the age but I know that,  my brother and I were naked just hopping in and out of the pool so I assuming very young. 

The other very fond memory I have is when I had the pleasure of living with Alan and Nancy during the time when I was working at Rutgers.  It provided an organic bonding opportunity that normally would not present itself.  This was a period in my life that was extremely challenging but having a safe place to stay while I was working to build my career is something I will never forget.  Dinners were amazing and I swear I don't know how they made all those chicken cutlets…..but it was a cherished moment in my life.

Allan wasn’t the overly gushy type, but he was the kind of principal who made sure new teachers set up their retirement accounts. He had a great sense of humor—he’d remind you exactly how many hours he had left until retirement or point to the vision board in his office, which featured a map of Jupiter, Florida (or, as he pronounced it in his Staten Island accent, “Jupita”).

Beneath his tough exterior, I found him to be kind and thoughtful. He never took the more trivial aspects of the job too seriously. He understood that, at its core, the work was about people—teachers, students, and principals—all trying to navigate an ever-changing system.

One of my favorite memories of Allan came months after he retired. He called me and told me to hurry up and type in “live cam” and “Crystal Springs Resorts” (I think that was the name). When I pulled up the live feed, there he was—poolside in Florida, flipping us the middle finger. That moment perfectly captured his sense of humor and his ability to bring joy and levity to our daily work.

For what it’s worth, I also remember how much Allan loved his wife and children. We will all miss him.

Working with Nancy meant having the privilege of also experiencing her family on a daily basis. I was lucky enough to have gotten to know Alan over the years. A great man all around but an exceptional husband and father. The way Alan loved his family was so so beautiful. This is such a loss for all who had the pleasure of knowing Alan. I will forever keep Nancy, Julia and Michael in my prayers as they navigate through this terrible time 💔.

Al was such a great guy - always keeping us laughing.  He was tough on us in class cause he cared - "make sure you do it on the left" - All week that is all I heard in my head - Al's voice - make sure you are practicing on the left - So Al, I know you are in Heaven making sure everyone is practicing on the left!

Dear Baldassano family; he loved you so very much. He was a good man.  I remember how his son used to call him for everything! He proudly talked about you all, all the time. I feel like I know you!

When I met Allan, he welcomed me into the P2G community. We worked together on some Citywide projects, and I saw how he offered support to all. He often spoke about his family with love and joy.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Even though I didn’t know Allan well, I will remember him as a man whose kindness and helpfulness touched everyone he met.  His unwavering dedication to Nancy and the family was evident in how he spoke to them and the tender way he cared for them.  He was always ready with a warm smile and always made me feel welcome when I was in your home.

Allan was always fun to be around, we worked Saturday School together from time to time.  You could see how much he enjoyed teaching and caring for the kids.  Your positive and contagious energy will be missed within the school community. RIP, Sending love and prayers to his family.

Allan embodied every quality of a loving devoted husband and family by choice. 
He was kind and willing to show up to help anyone in need.He was so intelligent but most important was his ability to embrace the people around him. There was nothing Alan would not do for family and friends. We have shared some many exciting events from births to graduation parties and days at the pool.  We will cherish all of the wonderful memories and be here to support Nancy, Julia and Michael. 

His memory will live on forever in our hearts and those who loved him.

Allan was a kind man and always offered positivity. He was someone I could count on if I ever needed help at work; he truly contributed to our McKee community…however my favorite thing about Allan was hearing him talk about Noodles! We would share pictures of our dogs and discuss our love for our pets. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I've know Allan for so many years. I always looked forward to seeing him whenever I was at their home. He was always so funny and caring. There are a few good men I have met. He is definitely one of them. I could always see how much he cared for Nancy and his kids. I will miss him dearly.

With a heavy heart, I  say goodbye to a wonderful friend and mentor, Allan. His wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support touched not only my life but so many lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing Allan. His  guidance and  friendship was a gift beyond measure. Counting down the days to retirement was like watching the final chapters of a long and eventful book unfold. Each day brought  a mix of excitement, anticipation, and maybe a little bit of nervousness. Yet  marking the calendar, ticking off the weeks, imagining what life will look like when the daily grind was going to behind him was an event indeed. The countdown started slowly—months, then weeks—but before you knew it, he was  down to days, then hours. And when that last day arrives, it was a moment of celebration, reflection, and a toast to the new adventure ahead.  And though his count has ended too soon, his moments remain—etched in memory, carried in hearts, never forgotten.
His life was not measured in numbers, but in the impact he left behind.
Rest in peace, dear friend—you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
