Anthony J. Falconiere, 88 Self-employed mechanic-businessman served in the Korean War Anthony J. Falconiere, 88, of East Branch, N.Y., passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2019. He graduated from Brooklyn High School of Auomotive, 1955. He served in the Korean War as a U.S. Marine, reaching the rank of private first class. Anthony was a self-employed mechanic/businessman. He attended St. Rita Church. He enjoyed fixing, refurnishing, and reusing everything. Other hobbies included hunting, home repair, cars, trucks, trains, and gambling. He belonged to the NRA and the Society of Fleet Supervisors. Anthony was also a real estate investor. His grandparents, Joseph and Josephina Calandra, maintained a boarding house on S.I. in Meiers Corners, a.k.a. Dogpatch. Anthony was married for 20 years to Gloria Falconiere (divorced). He was the father of Margaret Hyer, Andrew Falconiere, Vincenza Bisceglie, and Marie Ann Falconiere. He was the grandfather of Melissa Falconiere, Kristina Rush, Joseph Bisceglie, Dennis Paul Hyer, Veronica Rosenberg, Nicole Marino, Christopher Bisceglie, Christopher Falconiere, and Jesssica Falconiere, and the great-grandfather of Clara and Benjamin Rush, Julianna Scaffidi, Ryan Bisceglie , and Hunter Hyer. He is also survived by his partner of 39 years, Geraldine Chomicki, and two stepsons, Raymond and Michael. Services are being handled by Casey Funeral Home, with visitation on Monday, Nov. 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Private interment is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, at St. Charles Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Staff Sgt. Michael Ollis Freedom Foundation.
